Nicotine is a poison in high concentration and highly addictive when smoked. But it is not the culprit for causing cancer. Nicotine however may have links to certain changes in brain chemistry over time. Nicotine is not a good thing for the body, but it is not the cause of cancer. Further proof:

Women who smoke are more concerned about their habit and their ability to quit than men, yet both genders appear misinformed about smoking and its link to cancer. In a new study presented at CHEST 2005, the 71st annual international scientific assembly of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), the majority of smokers mistakenly believed nicotine causes cancer, leading many to smoke “light” cigarettes because they believed them to be less harmful. Women also were more likely than men to have feelings of guilt, fear, and worry associated with tobacco use and quitting the habit.

So now you can feel good about promoting a product that helps smokers get more healthy. Lets face it who wants to make a buck promoting something that hurts people? I don’t.

I am impressed with the many smokers who say these work. I worry about them being made in China. I don’t trust China. They’ve poisoned enough people/babies/animals already. Wish they were made in the good old USA. “lifestyle tax” is coming next!

Within a week I went from a pack a day for 30 yrs to 0. Aside from the obvious – no smoke, no smell, no carcinogens etc, I noticed if I get any vapor in my eyes, it doesn’t sting like smoke. My animals don’t even blink if it blows in their faces 🙂

I smoked a pack a day for 35 years, and quit because of ecigs. It’s saving my life! And the FDA and anti smoking groups are concerned for my health? They want to remove ecigs from the market, but KEEP cigarettes for sale? Talk about contradiction.

After 22 years of smoking over a pack per day, e-cigarettes got me off of cigarettes in 2 days. After 8 weeks I’m using 0 nicotine in my e-cig. I can see why Philip Morris and the government are about to ban this. They’re losing victims too fast.

The fact that the FDA is considering a ban on this safer e-cig alternative is appalling. Aren’t they SUPPOSED to be the watchdog for public health and not Philip Morris’s puppet? I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 20 years. The -ecig is saving my life!

I’m not one of those people who flaunt the ecig in public. I’m just happy my lungs feel better, my husband can’t smell the ecig, I have energy, I could go on and on. Whatever the FDA finds, I KNOW ecigs are healthier than the reg cigs. I FEEL better!

Amazing,the Bull our govt will come up with when their tax income is being threatened. The FDA already APPROVED a Nicotine inhaling device! I tried one MANY times hoping to quit a 25 year, pack/day habit!With my e-cigg, 46 days smoke free!

I’m a non-smoker but ever since I learned about e-cigs I’ve been trying to convert my friends. I rarely get involved in politics, but I believe in e-cigs will help to keep them from getting banned in any way I can. Smokers should have a choice!

Excellent article. On 3/10 I switched from a pack a day smoker for 15 years to e-cigs. I don’t smell like an ashtray, my smell/taste have returned, and I’ve stepped down to a lower dosage. Starter pack M401 $50. Fill my own carts @ ~$20/mo.

I haven’t smoked a cigarette in two months thanks to the e-cig. After 40 years of smoking 1 1/2 packs a day, that’s a huge thing for me! Nicotine gum didn’t work. This works. You can get different strengths of nicotine or none at all.

Karen: You can fill them with nicotine-free e-liquid. I stopped smoking over a month ago using an e-cig with NO problem, after 1 pack/day for 15 years. It’s great. Sadly, if Big Pharma NOR Big Tobacco can profit, they’ll probably be banned.

I bought the Njoy e-Cigarette & am disappointed. I love the concept, but you aren’t saving any money with Njoy. One pack of 10 cartridges is 19.99 plus tax… 1 cartridge is equal to about a 1/2 pack of cigarettes. Be careful which brand you buy.
