These instructions are quite detailed. If you follow them everything should go smoothly. However this is not the only way to move your WordPress Blog. The author of this video uses phpMyAdmin to move the MySQL database. And easier way is to use the built in cPanel MySQL backup/restore feature.

The author also shows you how to change the URL of your blog files in your MySQL database text file “if” you are changing not only your server, but your domain as well.

Some hosts also limit the size of file uploads so you may need to contact your host to have these restrictions removed before you can move your WordPress Blog.

This author uses NameCheap as his host, it doesn’t matter who your host is as long as you have an host that uses cPanel. Most hosts use cPanel; and cPanel is my recommendation for anyone choosing a Web Host (Others use Plesk and H-Sphere). Using WHM with cPanel

WHM is (Web Host Manager) and is used for “Reseller” accounts. This is how you set up multiple websites on a single account. This is NOT the same as the Cpanel you would get with a standard shared hosting account. Reseller Accounts allow you to set up multiple Cpanel Accounts. This might not make sense to many of you who are new to Reseller Hosting, but for those who are it’s a well constructed tutorial.
