		<description>Yes, it&#039;s a fine line between being totally out for yourself and doing your bit for society as a whole. I sometimes think that people that get ahead, especially in politics, effectively lie to themselves and say that they are doing what they do for the greater good when in reality they are completely out for themselves. The better the politician the better he/she lies to himself which makes it more convincing to the voters. 

Carlin is funny because he is cynical and is saying what people deep down believe is the truth but for an easy life prefer to believe the myth that people are looking after themselves. Ultimately you have to take control and responsibility for your own life and those that you care for.   </description>
